Why is JEE so Popular:
As I’ve discussed earlier, IITs are the best place to pursue engineering & they provide you with a group of the smartest people in the country. Which will ensure you to push you limits. Here are some reasons why JEE is the right choice for you:1. Status & Confidence
You’ve seen that students that are studying in IIT’s/Nit’s have special place in people’s mind. Because they have a strong perception that he’ll become successful(because he had cracked this toughest exam). This perception also boosts the confidence of the student that he has done something great, which makes him feel to work harder for his career and eventually becoming successful. If you’ve never seen any IItian then you can search on youtube and see, how any student is treated after cracking jee exam.2. Fee Structure
We all know that engineering is a professioal career. That’s why these degrees cost a lot of money to pursue. Even in private or some local government colleges, a B.Tech costs you 20-25 lakhs of rupees. But this is not in the case of IITs/Nit’s. In these colleges, the fee structure is well designed you can get a degree from IIT for around 12 lakhs and a degree from Nit for around 10 lakhs as a general category student.
If you are from an underprivileged family and can not afford their fees, then there are also a ton of scholarship opportunities for different categories. The main scholarship schemes for IITs & NITs are given below:
Example(NIT Warangal): [CHECK HERE]
3. Placement opportunities
Some day in the past you’ve seen or heard from your parents that this student gets 1 crore, 2 crore or even 4 crore of salary package just after completing their engineering degree. That’s a lot of money for someone in the age of 23-24.This is True. That’s why IIT’s have so much competition. If anyone cracks JEE advanced and gets into IIT’s or NIT’s then the structure of these colleges is to make you hardworking and specialized in specific skill that will give you better salary. Also, big companies like Google, Microsoft, etc. They also believe that IItians are smart. That’s why they are ready to give huge packages.
4. Overall Personality Development:
You know that IIT’s are not only catagorized for great studies. Instead of great studies you’ll get an awesome college life in IIT’s. Because their lare campus is designed with alot of activities like Sports facilities, gym, Extra curricular activities etc. Also, in all the IITs & Nit’s, you get to see the clubs of different domains like the Dramatics club, entrepreneurship club, dance club, singing club, and many more. As, We’ve seen that this exam is definitely not a piece of cake. But, with proper steps and precautions, anyone can crack this exam easily and get into their dream college. Let’s dive into some tips that you need to keep in mind:1. Consistency and Discipline:
Yes, you heard it right. I know you’ve heard a lot about discipline that the only thing we need to be successful is Discipline. The same goes for this exam. In jee exam due to its long and complex syllabus it is impossible to prepare for this exam in some days or months. Just like we’ve seen a Story of the rabbit and tortoise, in which the rabbit starts with great speed but no able to win. Because the tortoise knows that the game is complete the path slowly and steadily. Similar to this story, He who maintains discipline and follows that same boring study schedule will definitely able to crack this.2. Effective Completion of Syllabus:
The key point of this exam is it’s syllabus, those who did it properly are the ones who’ve won the 50 percent of the race. Because till the date of Jee advanced you need to carry all your concepts, and if they are not prepared well you can not do anything. So, The prime goal should be to cover our syllabus first effectively and then move on. For this you can make your goal to cover the syllabus with your school, or coaching properly(means no backlogs).3. Practice Problems Daily:
Now we’ve seen that if you complete your syllabus, you have won 50 percent of the battle. The remaining 50 percent is all about your question-solving. How deeply you can think when you see a question is critical thinking, and this is what you need to build a real problem solving. If I go simple, You have to follow these steps:
- First, prepare the concept from book or YouTube lecture.
- Then start solving questions related to same concepts from free sources like PW daily.
- Ensure that you are solving more than 20 questions per subject per day in the form of DPP(daily practice problems)
- Review and write the points that you missed while solving the problem and write it into some notebook. Then review these points on every weekend.
- When you are done with your syllabus which ideally needs to be 2-3 months before exam, then you can switch to pyq practice and high level questions from different books or online platforms.
- Make sure you should start doing mock tests 20-30 days before exam.
4. Revise Everyday:
Revision is the key factor in studying for any exam no matter it’s boards or IIT JEE. Make revision a habit which should be unavoidable, because no matter how hard you work on learning at some point of time you would forget this. That’s why revision make sure that the things you learnt stays in your mind forever. Now How you can do this?, First everynight when you go to sleep. Revise the concepts you learnt and problems you did in 20 minutes. Also make sure to add revision session on sunday, where you sit for 1-2 hours straight and review the week.Believe me this habit makes you unbeatable in any competition.
5. Avoid Peer Pressure:
Peer pressure is the biggest killer of self-esteem. It is the thing which is hard to resist for any teenager preparing for such a hard exam. But you have to believe that “There’s no one better”. As for some people a 100 m race starts from 80 m ahead, for some people it starts from 20m behind the start line. So, make sure you are giving your best and not focusing on others.JEE Mains cut off trend
